Profile

The Scuttlebutt app can be downloaded on all iPhone IOS and Android phone devices.
Yes! Scuttlebutt is free to download and our multitude of features are all free to use as well.
By selecting the three line icon in the top right corner, a dropdown menu will appear. Click on Notifications and then the three dot icon in the menu bar. You’ll then be given access to your Push Notification preferences.
Users can write a review and leave feedback on the app by first selecting the three line icon in the top right corner. Towards the end of the dropdown menu, select Help & Support. If you scroll to the bottom of the page, you’ll find links to do this.

After you create an account and log in for the first time, Scuttlebutt will prompt you to input information about yourself and what type of boater you are. Once you Finish Creating Profile, you’ve created your personal page.
To update your profile information, users should first select their profile icon in the top left corner. Then, next to your name, click on the three dot icon. This will allow you to update your personal profile.
Scuttlebutt users are able to change their password by first clicking on the three line icon in the top right corner. At the bottom of the dropdown menu, select Settings. You’ll then find an option labeled Change Password. Keep in mind that you’ll need to know your current password to change it.
For those who want to add a boat profile, they will first select the profile icon in the top left corner. Underneath your cover photo, you’ll find an option labeled Boats. After clicking this, you’ll be prompted to Add New Boat.

To search for a group, you’ll first want to click the three line icon in the top right corner. Within the dropdown menu, you’ll select Groups and be taken to its tab. By choosing the magnifying glass icon underneath the three lines, you’re able to search for any social group. Once you’ve found one, click the Join option and you’ll be added in!
When scrolling through your feed on the Scuttlebutt app, you’ll see a Share option in the bottom right corner of other boaters’ posts. By clicking on it, you’ll find that you can also share the post on Scuttlebutt or another social platform as well.
When you get a friend request on the Scuttlebutt app, you’ll first want to click on the three line icon in the top right corner. There, you’ll select Notifications and then Friend Requests. After that, you can choose to either Accept or Decline.
If a social group is private and you haven’t received an invite, you aren’t able to join freely. Users are still given the option of Request to Join but will have to wait for the group admin to accept.
When you get a request to join a group, you’ll first want to click on the three line icon in the top right corner. There, you’ll select Notifications and then Social. After that, you can choose to either Accept or Decline.

To find a business’s page on the app, first select the Search bar at the top of the landing page. You can then use the scroll bar underneath to find the Businesses option. After clicking it, you’re able to look through all the marine businesses who have a profile page.
Yes! Scuttlebutt has partnered with multiple marine businesses to provide users with free products, digital subscriptions, and more. To look through these, first select the three line icon in the top right corner. In the dropdown menu, you’ll then find the Offers options.
Each week, Scuttlebutt posts current boating news so you can keep up with what’s happening in your area and in the industry. To read these, select the three line icon in the top right corner. The News and Articles tab can then be found in the dropdown menu.
Content on the Scuttlebutt app can be both reposted and shared elsewhere to another platform. To do this, go to a post that you like and you’ll find a Share option in the bottom right corner. After selecting it, you will be prompted to either Share Post on Scuttlebutt or Share Post Elsewhere.
